☀️ It’s almost here. The season we wait for, promising endless evenings by the water, the slow reading of a book under a parasol, the sensation of warm sun after a splashing bath. Someone jumping in from the pier while we stay on the blanket just a little bit longer. Soon the sea will feel warm enough, the days will stretch late into the night, and Helsingborg will turn into the kind of place where summer moments seem to happen naturally. We’re not quite there yet. But we’re getting close. Very close. 🌊 #visithelsingborg #helsingborg #swedishsummer #soonitsummer

🎨 Did you know Helsingborg is full of public art? Here are nine artworks to discover on a sunny spring walk through the city – from north to south. ☀️🌿 ✨ Hans Alfredssons plats By the theatre, playful clues honour Hans Alfredson – a flower-covered falukorv, feet balancing an egg and the mysterious letter “Q”. ✨ Lekande ungdom – Sankt Jörgens plats This bronze fountain by Axel Wallenberg (1946) shows young people at play, inspired by bathing scenes in nearby Arild. ✨ Vindskulpturen – Hamntorget A folded steel column by Lars Bergström and Mats Bigert reflects the sky and symbolises wind growing from calm to strong. ✨ Attachéväska – Raoul Wallenberg-monumentet A forgotten briefcase by Gustav and Ulla Kraitz honours Raoul Wallenberg, who saved thousands of Jews during World War II. ✨ Sjöfartsgudinnan – Hamntorget Carl Milles’ iconic 1923 monument symbolises Helsingborg as a port city, facing the harbour entrance. ✨ Hamngäst – Oceanhamnen This fiery sculpture by Thomas Nordström burns with recycled biogas, symbolising the energy of this innovative district. ✨ Livets källa – Mariakyrkan A calm bronze sculpture of Mary by Gustaf Nordahl (1956), reflecting themes of life, faith and motherhood. ✨ Shattering – ArtStreet Hbg Leon Keer’s striking 3D mural of breaking porcelain cups tells a story about climate change. ✨ Sammanstråla / Shine Together – Gustav Adolfs torg David Svensson gathered street lamps from around the world around a local one – a symbol of cultures meeting in one city. ✨ Which artwork would you discover first? ✨ Sweden has almost 270,000 islands – more than any other country in the world! But did you know three islands and two beautiful peninsulas are just outside Helsingborg? Here are five coastal gems to explore this spring or summer. 🌿🚲🌊 1. Sandön Just outside the village of Utvälinge, a 300-metre pier leads to Sandön, a tiny island made entirely of sand. Half the island is a protected nature reserve with rich birdlife, open to visitors from mid-April to mid-October. Shallow waters and wide sandy shores make it perfect for swimming and picnics. 🌊🏝️ 2. Ven In the middle of the Öresund strait lies Ven, a small island known for its rolling landscapes and iconic yellow rental bikes. Only 4.5 km long, it’s perfect to explore in a day — past wheat fields, farm shops and quiet beaches. Don’t miss the historic observatory of Danish astronomer Tycho Brahe. 🚲🌾 @helsingborgven @visithven @landskronaven 3. Hallands Väderö Just outside Torekov lies Hallands Väderö, a peaceful island nature reserve reached by boat in summer. Here you’ll find leafy forests, smooth granite cliffs and small sandy coves with crystal-clear water. Keep an eye out for seals resting on the sun-warmed rocks along the shore. 🦭🌿 @hallandsvadero 4. Kullahalvön North of Helsingborg stretches Kullahalvön, a peninsula where dramatic landscapes meet charming coastal villages. Discover fishing harbours like Mölle and Arild, the ceramics town of Höganäs and the spectacular cliffs of Kullaberg Nature Reserve. ⛰️🌊 @kullahalvoncom 5. Bjärehalvön Further north, Bjärehalvön offers a beautiful mix of coastline, small towns and open countryside. Visit Norrviken Gardens, walk along scenic coastal trails or stop in Båstad and Torekov for local food with sea views. 🌿🌊 @upplevbjare @visitbastad Which one would you visit first? 🌊 #visithelsingborg #helsingborg #swedishislands #skåne #yourswedishisland @visitsweden
