✨ Sweden has almost 270,000 islands – more than any other country in the world! But did you know three islands and two beautiful peninsulas are just outside Helsingborg? Here are five coastal gems to explore this summer. 🌿🚲🌊 1. Sandön Just outside the village of Utvälinge, a 300-metre pier leads to Sandön, a tiny island made entirely of sand. Half the island is a protected nature reserve with rich birdlife, open to visitors from mid-April to mid-October. Shallow waters and wide sandy shores make it perfect for swimming and picnics. 🌊🏝️ 2. Ven In the middle of the Öresund strait lies Ven, a small island known for its rolling landscapes and iconic yellow rental bikes. Only 4.5 km long, it’s perfect to explore in a day past wheat fields, farm shops and quiet beaches. Don’t miss the historic observatory of Danish astronomer Tycho Brahe. Take the ferry from central Helsingborg with @helsingborgven 🚲🌾 3. Hallands Väderö Just outside Torekov lies Hallands Väderö, a peaceful island nature reserve reached by boat in summer. Here you’ll find leafy forests, smooth granite cliffs and small sandy coves with crystal-clear water. Keep an eye out for seals resting on the sun-warmed rocks along the shore. 🦭🌿 @hallandsvadero 4. Kullahalvön North of Helsingborg stretches Kullahalvön, a peninsula where dramatic landscapes meet charming coastal villages. Discover fishing harbours like Mölle and Arild, the ceramics town of Höganäs and the spectacular cliffs of Kullaberg Nature Reserve. ⛰️🌊 @kullahalvoncom 5. Bjärehalvön Further north, Bjärehalvön offers a beautiful mix of coastline, small towns and open countryside. Visit Norrviken Gardens, walk along scenic coastal trails or stop in Båstad and Torekov for local food with sea views. 🌿🌊 @upplevbjare @visitbastad Which one would you visit first? 🌊 #visithelsingborg #helsingborg #swedishislands #skåne #yourswedishisland @visitsweden
