Rååbadet is a cold bath house located a bit north of Råå marina, in the yellow-painted wooden buildings that stretch along the beach. The bath has three sections, all of which have their own bathing jetty; a family department where swimwear is mandatory, a men’s department and a women’s department.
The bath began to be built in the winter of 1897 and initially had a modest 10 bathing cabins, and from the owner Pettersson you could also rent your swimwear! But it would take a while before a sauna existed – more precisely until 1946. Then the city of Helsingborg owned the cold bath house but wanted it to be closed down. In 1986, Rååbadens bath and sauna club, also called Rååbadarna, took over the operation of the bathhouse and in 1991 the buildings were classified as “particularly valuable buildings” by Helsingborg city antiquary.
