On Mariatorget, surrounded by restaurants from all corners of the world, is Mariakyrkan. Or St. Mary’s Church as it is actually called. The church is the city’s oldest and dates from the 12th century but was rebuilt to its current gothic style in the 15th century. In the 14th century, the church was one of Denmark’s largest city churches.
