A day out in nature

Let's start wandering

Are your legs ready for an adventure? Fantastic! Start by wandering through town to Norra Hamnen and Dunkers kulturhus. Here you will begin a wonderful beach walk that goes all the way out to your destination; Sofiero castle. On the way, you will pass by beautiful houses and restaurants, with the sea by your side the entire way. At Sofiero you can enjoy the amazing park in its full summer glory and let the history of royal life at the castle unfold before you. Around the park there are different gardens and exhibitions and each one is unique.

Lunch with a view

If you have any energy left after a few hours at the park, you can walk back to town again. Of course you could also take the bus back! Just don’t forget to stop for lunch or a fika at the castle restaurant slottsrestaurangen before you leave. There is a truly breathtaking view looking over the sound at Kronborg Castle on the Danish side.

A historical aftonnoon

Alternatively, you could walk up Hallberg’s steps past Kärnan and up to Fredriksdal Museum and Gardens. Discover the botanical gardens, kitchen gardens, the rosary, farm animals and the old town quarter where you might even find a guided tour with an exciting historical re-enactment.
